This was the first father's day without mum. We gave Dad a special porcelain tumbler from Kaoshiung and the framed Lawson Wood illustration above. I had gotten it months ago in Utrecht, from my favourite vintage store. It was published in a magazine in 20 December 1930. P says the top shows Dad in a good mood and the bottom shows Dad in a bad mood. I thought the whole piece showed Dad in his element.
If I look at each of us carefully, all our feet hasn't touched bottom. If our lives were a carefully maintained dollhouse, the floors have all been removed. There was only Dad now, the pillar, in our world without floors.
